It had been a few weeks of mixing up my green smoothie ingredients. Since peaches, plums, pluots and nectarines are in season they were filling in for my fruit in my morning green smoothies. We didn't make it to the Farmer's Market on Sunday, so we were forced to make a Whole Foods run for some green smoothie ingredients.
When the mixture of kale, Fuji apples and bananas hit my lips I was reminded of how this all began and why I love green smoothies so much. This is my favorite combination of ingredients. They provide the perfect consistency and sweetness for my taste :)
The Quick
What: Old Faithful Green Smoothie
When: Breakfast or any time
How: 1 serving
1 small head of kale (6 - 8 pieces)
1 apple
1 banana
Optional: some raisins or dates to add sweetness
